wild-angles-team-antjeANTJE HOPFMANN: Owner, Tour Leader & Photographer
Greetings & welcome to our homepage. I’m Antje, native German, and founder of WILD ANGLES. Take a few minutes and learn more about me and my motivation. It all started very early in life when I was fascinated by nature and wildlife. As a child, I loved animal books the most and watched in awe documentaries about all these amazing places and incredible wildlife on our planet. I was particularly inspired by Prof. Dr. Bernhard Grzimek, a former Director of the Frankfurt Zoological Garden & Society, who played an instrumental role in establishing and promoting the unique eco-system of Serengeti and Masai Mara back in the 1950’s and 60’s.
After school, I decided to pursue a career in hospitality which took me to many different countries. I worked my way up reaching the position of hotel manager and later moving to corporate head offices to manage quality assurance in luxury hotel chains in Dubai. I’m a perfectionist by nature, and place a premium on quality and safety. My experience in checking quality and service standards and even food safety levels helps me now selecting the best suitable lodges, camps and transport for our tours.
Besides hospitality, my first hobby is travelling which I was fortunate to do extensively over the past decade, and travelling lead to (travel) photography which in turn lead to safaris and wildlife photography. However, I was not satisfied with the outcome of my photos and so I focused on participating in various specific wildlife photo courses. By doing so, I realized that it is difficult to find tours that are not priced in the absolute luxury category. And when meeting Cornelis on one tour in South Africa, we decided to form WILD ANGLES with the aim to offer authentic and high quality wildlife photography workshops and safaris for affordable prices.
By now, I have taken my photography skills to the next level and studied photography at the International Institute of Art & Photography in Dubai. I am excited to meet you on tour to share my knowledge and experience! Come as guest and return as a friend, and remember: mastering photography is a life-long learning experience…

Dumela! My name is Cornelis and I was born and raised in the Netherlands. I have a great passion for wildlife and had a lifelong dream of becoming a bush ranger in Africa. A few years ago I decided to make that dream come true, and so I packed my suitcase to leave for the unknown! I started off in the greater Kruger area (South Africa) where I was trained as a professional field guide and tourism operator and gained my FGASA diploma. Thereafter, I went on to deepen my knowledge and studied as well Game Farm Management. After gaining a lot of experience in guiding and managing an endangered wildlife breeding program it was time for me to further broaden my horizon and to venture off deeper into Africa. Currently I’m exploring what I believe is the most stunning area in Africa: the Okavango Delta in Botswana. I am looking forward to taking you along and showing you the wonders of Africa.
